DONALD’S
13-day cultural voyage
to Crete, Santorini,
Naxos & Athens.
Hello! I am Donald, and this is my ‘Be a Greek’ story.
Long after my retirement, I am only interested in life changing trips, and this was definitely the epitome of them all. I deliberately contacted ‘Be a Greek’ last year, in need of a signature hospitality destination, like Greece, to celebrate my post quarantine freedom in a relaxing, carefree yet also meaningful and spectacular way fit to my personality.
What I enjoyed the most was Santorini, given its unique volcanic topology, the bluest waters and the stunning sunsets. The local wines were also remarkably good. In Crete, the lovely city of Chania was truly mind-boggling with its unique historic sites. Traditional Cretan ‘raki’ is more than a local alcoholic treat at the end of each meal; it was a lesson on hospitality. Athens is a city of marvels. I have been here before but this was the time that I learned so much about its history.
Everywhere I went I felt like an insider. My travel team stayed in constant contact with me while all the local guides were extremely knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. Next time I will extend the duration and add more islands to the mix. Best farewell memory by far, the wine and sushi I enjoyed with the team while taking in a spectacular sunset-washed view of Athens, with the Acropolis in the distance.

JANE’S
18-day fast paced,
multi-experiential voyage
to Athens, the Aegean, Santorini & Crete.
Hello! I am Jane, and this is my ‘Be a Greek’ story.
Getting older comes with perks (not complaining), so my current self needs much detail and attention for me to have a good time, let alone travelling abroad. Greece has always been a dream, but I would have never set sail without being assured that there would be no crowds, honeymooners and families around but only relatable co-travellers. Some other no – no’s for me include catamarans and remote hotels, while my biggest must is 24/7 safety! Well, this ‘magic’ exists and it’s called “Be a Greek”! These guys perfectly designed and executed a highly demanding itinerary for such a difficult customer (yes, me) and still made it look easy…
I loved every minute of the trip, though Santorini deserves the glory of the ‘winner’ of my heart. What’s not to love? The caldera, the wine, the sunset… The cruise around the Aegean was also amazing and so comfortable – and what an amazing food experience.
Thanks to ‘Be A Greek’ I experienced the best parts of a trip and felt that any possible ‘bad’ ones were ruled out. The reps were by my side 24/7 to answer any question and the guides were simply the best I’ve had in my life.

JONATHAN’S
12-day wine trail,
private voyage to Athens,
Peloponnese & Crete.
Hello! I am Jonathan, and this is my ‘Be a Greek’ story.
It’s not easy to describe the gifts of Greece for the eyes and the soul, one must visit to see it and believe it and ‘Be A Greek’ is the way to do it! Since our very first contact, after filling the form, I knew it would all go great since it was my first time ever to get the chance to freely express my wishes and needs for my ideal trip, with no hesitation. I actually made myself very clear about what I wanted for my travel; Wine tastings, exploration of Greek traditions in a slow pace, and privacy.
To be honest I am not just a wine lover. Wine is my life (I am WSET level 2 certified). Exploring new places and living new experiences through wine is who I am. Wine is the most marvellous life guide! The thing with Greece is that even without the History, the culture, the beaches, etc., it would still be prominent in my list, not only for its unique varieties and exceptional modern wines, but also for its wine culture of thousand years.
Both Peloponnese and Crete rewarded me with great wines and wineries (especially Nemea Region with its famous reds), great food and spectacular historical sites, though nothing overshadows the Parthenon and the Acropolis Museum in Athens.
Dimitris and his team were extremely accommodating and careful in all details and arranged things I could never arrange myself. In conclusion, everything was planned and executed perfectly! Cheers!

LIA’S
9-day self-pampering,
luxury voyage
to Naxos & Athens.
Hello! I am Lia, and this is my ‘Be a Greek’ story.
I’ve always loved to travel but this time I needed something beyond an ordinary vacation; I’d say a personalized experience, to really feel cared for. I wasn’t sure if anything like that even existed, but… wow! ‘Be A Greek’! These guys presented me with not only a pampering travel experience, but also introduced me to a lifetime dream-destination. After all, where else would someone who loves archaeology and beaches kill to go if not to Greece?
Did it live up to my expectations? OMG! My 9-day trip turned out to be more of an appetiser! Greece is fantastic and I’m planning to revisit soon. Of course, choosing only 2 iconic destinations, was wise, giving me the time to enjoy everything with all my senses. Naxos! A beautiful island in Cyclades, and Athens! The metropolis of history, arts and culture. Naxos, apart from the stunning archaeological sites, surprised me with its exceptional gastronomy and its natural environment. I enjoyed every single experience Dimitris and Chris organized – from sailing and snorkeling to horseback riding, though the most memorable ones were a dinner in a medieval city made entirely of marble and the sunset over the Aegean Sea.
Athens needs weeks to enjoy, but my private guides (so knowledgeable, so pleasant) helped me gain a deep and nuanced understanding of the city. Next time I am in Athens I’ll definitely ask to also explore what’s further around it.
